About the Role

Main VPS is looking for a skilled and reliable L1 / L2 Linux Support Administrator to manage, monitor, and

support our VPS, dedicated server, and web hosting infrastructure.

The candidate will be responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting Linux

servers, managing hosting environments, handling cPanel/WHM, DNS, SSL, mail, backup, migration,

monitoring, security, and customer support-related tasks.

This role is suitable for someone with strong Linux administration knowledge, good troubleshooting skills,

and experience working in a web hosting, VPS, datacenter, or managed server support environment.

Key Responsibilities

β€’ Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux servers and hosting environments.

β€’ Manage and monitor VPS, dedicated servers, and related infrastructure.

β€’ Handle server provisioning, deployment, migration, patching, and routine maintenance.

β€’ Manage cPanel/WHM, Plesk, WHMCS, and other hosting-related platforms.

β€’ Handle and troubleshoot hosting-related issues including website downtime, server performance,

DNS, SSL, email, database, FTP, and access-related problems.

β€’ Monitor server uptime, services, logs, resource usage, performance, and infrastructure alerts.

β€’ Respond to incidents, analyze logs, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.

β€’ Manage backup schedules, restoration requests, and disaster recovery activities.

β€’ Maintain server security, firewall rules, SSH access, user permissions, access control, and basic server

hardening.

β€’ Perform software updates, patch management, package upgrades, and security maintenance.

β€’ Coordinate with datacenter, cloud providers, vendors, and internal teams for infrastructure-related

issues.

β€’ Provide technical support to customers and internal teams through tickets, chat, and on-call

channels.

β€’ Create and maintain SOPs, technical documentation, reports, and basic automation scripts.

β€’ Automate routine operational tasks using basic shell scripting when required.

1Required Skills

β€’ Strong knowledge of Linux server administration.

β€’ Experience with VPS, dedicated servers, and hosting infrastructure.

β€’ Hands-on experience with cPanel/WHM.

β€’ Knowledge of WHMCS or similar billing/support platforms.

β€’ Strong understanding of DNS, domains, SSL, email, FTP, databases, and hosting services.

β€’ Knowledge of web servers, database services, and mail server management.

β€’ Backup, restoration, and disaster recovery knowledge.

β€’ Basic firewall, server security, SSH, and access control knowledge.

β€’ Good troubleshooting, incident handling, and problem-solving skills.

β€’ Familiarity with monitoring tools and alert handling.

β€’ Basic shell scripting knowledge.

β€’ Good communication skills for ticket, chat, customer support, and internal coordination.

Preferred Skills

β€’ Experience in a web hosting company, datacenter, cloud provider, or managed service provider.

β€’ Basic knowledge of virtualization platforms such as KVM, SolusVM, SolusIO, VMware, Proxmox, or

similar.

β€’ Understanding of basic networking, routing, firewall ports, IP reputation, and RBL blacklist removal.

β€’ RHCSA, Linux+, CCNA, cPanel, or similar certification will be an added advantage.

Qualification

β€’ Bachelor’s degree, diploma, or certification in IT, Computer Science, Networking, or a related field.

β€’ Practical experience and troubleshooting ability will be given strong preference.

β€’ Relevant Linux, networking, or hosting-related certification will be an added advantage.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate should be strong in Linux troubleshooting, comfortable working in a hosting support

environment, able to handle pressure during server downtime or customer issues, and capable of providing

proper ticket updates, customer communication, documentation, and technical support.

The candidate should be responsible, disciplined, eager to learn, and willing to work in shifts or on-call

support when required.
